Thus agents, supervisors and managers will have the possibility of intervening to stop the individual who may be drawn into corruption before he or she engages in criminal conduct or other irremediable behavior. This training will focus on articulating a model for prevention of corruption, the identification of concurrent behaviors that predict potential corruption, and methods to change the culture so that identified signs of corruption will trigger interventions. The training will allow ample time for discussion of the model and more effective strategies for management of covert operations and enhanced interventions that might deter corruption and its consequences.

What can we do to prevent domestic violence offenders from purchasing firearms? This session will demonstrate how the FBI?s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) can provide a remedy to this problem. The attendee will gain an understanding of the federal law that prohibits a domestic violence offender from purchasing firearms and how it is defined. Additionally, the attendee will learn how they can submit someone?s name and information into a national database to prevent them from purchasing a firearm. There will also be discussion of how the NICS utilizes the information and records collected from these incidents and educate attendees on how valuable their documentation can be.

Much like drug-sniffing dogs, ADC employs a K-9 to search for cell phones, which have become a significant problem within the prison system. The class will include a demonstration of the K-9's ability.
